Party-Picking
Party-picking = unconscious eating, in my opinion. You know what I’m talking about…you’re at a party, talking and mingling, and your hand seems to unconsciously reach for every chip dish, shrimp boat, you name it and find its your way to your mouth. Now obviously, this is your brain telling your hand to do this — but why does it always feel like a shock when you get in the car and you’re feeling stuffed and bloated? “That’s funny, I hardly remember eating anything,” you tell yourself.
UNCONSCIOUS EATING IS EVIL.
Does anyone else go through this during the summer? I almost think summer is tougher than the holidays to manage a healthy lifestyle. And I know I place a lot of pressure on myself to be constantly aware of what I’m eating and doing, whether it’s at a party or just hanging out with Tom and the kids, but, hey, I’m human. We all want to have that splurge. But I have decided this won’t be the case anymore. This is a lifestyle. I can have that extra something, I can get out and take a quick walk when I don’t feel like doing a long workout. And most importantly, I can give myself a mental break.
